Hallo Week Ends

I've been really busy lately and seeing a lot of people. Despite the tragedy on which this weekend has ended with, I am thankful that I am surrounded by so many people, good times and lots of laughs.

Goodbye Coco

The unthinkable has happened and I am devastated, I don't know what to do or feel. Though our time together was short, I really loved you. x

Litter

So Midterms are almost over, my last one is tomorrow...though I have yet to study for it...DAMN YOU INTERNETS!!!

I've been doing a lot around the house, and to be honest, I will probably be doing nothing but house cleaning tomorrow afternoon, post-midterm pre-parties. I'm hoping to sort out the study for my mom once she gets back. Both my parents are insane pack-rats, (though I may have caught that gene too), and the study is filled with so many books and cds and cassettes and fur coats and mirrors and paintings and so on and so forth...I'm hoping to organize it in such a way that my mom can actually use the desk instead of bringing her work stuff to the living or dining room. As well as clear the area in front of the pullout couch for any impromptu guests.

Another project I'm currently working on is teaching my kitten to go to the toilet...in the toilet. I've noticed that she enjoys climbing everywhere, toilet seats and hot stoves included, so wouldn't it be amazing if I could pull this off? No more litter to buy or smells to endure...and hopefully my cat would get the hang of it too.

I've been following this website: http://www.catsofaustralia.com/cat-toilet.htm
And so far I've gotten the cat litter in the bathroom and it has been used by one of them. Hopefully this won't take too long but I'm hoping there will be enough progress to show to my mom when she returns.

Ta ta for now x

Morning Weekend!

The sun is so lovely today and I'm SO happy it's finally the weekend.

I get the best views of the sunrise from my window...

Loads to do today and tomorrow, including putting in my early vote for the mayoral election!

WWSD?

So much drama and gossip around me lately,
I want it to stop.
I feel like I'm on Gossip Girl.

So I've decided to channel my inner Serena Van der Woodsen.
I love her confidence and how she can just move above it all.

WWSD?

Thanksgiving Weekend!

I can honestly say, that this year has been the best Thanksgiving I have ever had.
I got to finally experience a real turkey dinner (shocking, I know) and really good gravy too, which I've always been weary of. I have eaten so much over the weekend that I don't think I will be hungry for a good while this week, not to mention my fridge is full of leftovers...

It started off with some Halloween Costume hunting with Tiffanny...
...followed by yummy Greek food, something we enjoy quite often...

I wonder what food in Greece is really like because sometimes I feel that the options on the Danforth are quite limited to Souvlaki or Gyros, I'm sure there are other things that Greeks love...my favourite: Spanakopita.

The next day I spent the morning with two friends who were cooking a chicken for themselves instead of a Turkey, they let me watch and learn their cooking skills...(We also went thrift shopping, I can't wait to show you the amazing founds I got!)

And that night, I got to meet my brother's future in laws for the first time. Her mother made so much food, I don't know how she managed to cook all those things!

Turkey, Ham, Meatloaf, Two Lasagnas...all the sides, two types of mashed potatoes, amazing rice that I got to take home, and then four cakes and pies as well as a giant fruit platter for dessert!

My plate was FULL and each time I looked down, it seemed like I wasn't making any indent whatsoever...so much food!

Then on Monday morning I had breakfast with some amazing friends from high school...
I love the red walls! Her mum made a loin of beef that was perfect and an amazing Ginger Carrot Butternut-squash soup that I got to take home! I miss her so much and hope I get to see her soon.

I am definitely thankful for all this food, I am also thankful for this amazing new family that I will have! I am thankful for my friends, who always find a way to cheer me up, and to my amazing (and patient) boyfriend.

Things can be pretty tough sometimes, but when you stop and consider how lucky you are, you realize you can surpass any obstacle. x

I lost my voice!

My throat only seems to have gotten worse and I woke up not being able to speak, so I'm taking the day off to heal up and do some chores, time to do that infamous laundry....x

Decisions...

Uni has barely begun and I am already making some big decisions about my next year already. I put myself on the waiting list for residence, but undecided on spending that money because I would like to do an exchange next year, meaning I would need more money and would be living in residence anyways, albeit foreign. I'm a little bit...scared? is that the word I'm going for? Choice has narrowed down to Europe, maybe France? England might still be on the table...Also trying to apply for scholarships and such, though it's harder than I thought to fill out some of the budget questions. Let's see what happens...

Dear Chicken Noodle Soup...

I adore you.

You taste really good and warm up my tummy.
You make me feel better no matter the weather.
You're comforting and filling,
did I mention yummy?

Laundry Fail

It's been weeks and I have yet to do my laundry. I AM A DISGRACE.

Excuses:
I dont have enough time.
I dont have enough quarters.
It's all the way downstairs.
I dont have enough brights.
I dont have enough whites.
I'm lazy.
I'm tired.
I have other stuff to wear anyways...

A Duvet Sunday

I feel like I am doing everything I can do avoid doing my history readings! Watched the new season of Gossip Girl, realized I'm still in Season 3 of Dexter and drooled over some recipes in the Nigella Lawson cookbook I borrowed.

Yesterday I saw my friend Christine, who needed me for another photoshoot, and we thought about having a party at my place soon, a Sangria party! I just really want to have people over as soon as possible, but with all this work to do and so much to clean up around the house, I feel like it'll never happen. My place would be perfect because the living room/dining room area is large enough for people to be scattered in and the kitchen is open enough for people to pass through. Plus I can hide any valuables or breakables in my mom's bedroom!
Last night was also Nuit Blanche, where the streets are closed and people walk around admiring art exhibits and concerts and what not. It's notably known for sucking, sadly, and I'm never really impressed, but this year I went out with my brother and his fiancĂ©e and it wasn't so bad. Here are some photos...
I also found a free beer!  Not sketchy whatsoever.......
I woke up with a terrible cough and had to cancel my first attempt at a workout/endurance plan me and Tiffanny had put together involving swimming every Sunday morning to get in shape for when we get our Scuba lessons. My goal today is to do my readings for one of my history classes, then dedicate time to clearing up and cleaning up, do laundry and feeling better! xx

Bennies

Tiffanny and I had brunch at this amazing place called Lady Marmalade on Queen St.
Best thing on the Menu? Eggs Bennie with Avocado, Brie and Bacon!
Can't wait to go back and try more!!! xx
