Today is St. Lucia.
Shortest day of the year.
As a child, my mum and I would always go
to the harbour front and
take advantage of
the Swedish festivities.
Glue and glitter
and decoupage.
Crowns made of
pipe cleaners and felt.
I don't know how
people could assume
I was Swedish, but
as long as I had
my gingerbread cookies
I was happy.
