Trying my best not to get overwhelmed by everything. Lots of little assignments and reading to do. Lots of expenses coming up but I've figured out how to file my uni health insurance claims so hopefully that will be sorted out and put some money back into my pockets. Trying hard not to call youknowhoyouare so as not to seem needy/annoying/or anything like that. I guess Facebook has spoiled us with instant updates that when there's someone else you want to talk too but that you can't get notifications about or call or text or email, you get kind of antsy...even if you just want to say 'hello, how are you?' xx

50's

There's something about the 50's fashions that are too good to be true. Girly, tiny waists...

...I'm going to a 50's themed birthday party with milkshakes and bowling, super excited. I'm going to need some pearls and figure out what to do with my hair....xx

Workout Girl

Sorry for the lack of updates, I was finishing up some major uni work this week and it feels so amazing to be finished the majority of it, though I still have quite a lot of little projects to do these next two weeks before exams...

But I bought myself gym shoes and I've been going to the gym!

I have been happy with my weight lately, so much so that I haven't bothered to weigh myself yet, but I feel like my muscles could definitely use a tone, maybe a lift or a little flattening? haha Along with all the other benefits of being healthy, plus endorphins and what not, I just think it's time I gave it a try since I have two gyms available to me free of charge!

My brother took me to his personal gym on Wednesday where I tried out the equipment and went to his weight-lifting class, really good and was so sore afterwards. Then I went to a Zumba class at my gym with my friend Anna and it wasn't as intense but definitely a good work out. It's funny though because there's a running track right above the gym, so if you look up you see people staring down at this group of people reenacting Thriller, which is ridiculously fun to do.

My plan is to go three times a week after my German class in the mornings.
Mondays - arm, triceps, biceps, whatever they're called I don't know...
Wednesdays - middle section, abs, torso, etc.
Fridays - legs, thighs, glutes, etc.

And also incorporate some time on the treadmill and bike. I know cardio is a vital part to all this but I'm going to have to build myself up slowly because for some reason I can barely run without being ridiculously out of breath.
I'm not looking for a six pack but just to get healthier, leaner and stronger. I'll be in a bathing suit most of the summer plus learning how to scuba dive.

Now all I have to do is some laundry to feel GTL!

Lush Friday

Friday was pretty exciting, I felt like a socialite.

Got my hair did at Curl Ambassadors where they made me appreciate my naturally incredibly curly hair. It was a lovely salon but the techniques they use to apply product and blow dry my hair were awkward to say that last and hurt my neck, especially in a room full of other people.

Afterwards I attended a L'Oreal promotional party for their new hair colour product Sublime Mousse, I won their contest because I came up with a slogan for 'What does Sublime mean to you?'. However I was more interested in seeing how much work goes into promoting products. It makes me want to work for a marketing company now. All in all it was realy well done....Pink Champagne and creative hors d'oeuvres.

Also ended up with a REALLY nice goody bag.

Lastly I went to my friend Jessica's birthday party which was pretty lush as well.

Sadly the rest of the weekend was spent in bed because I've had headaches and nausea practically every day for the past 2 weeks, I really need to see a doctor about it. Today I'm going to try and get a head start on some work and then go to bed super early tonight.  xx

I've had migraines and nausea all week, what's going on!?
Basically going to cram all the Geology I can into my head until the midterm tonight, then going home to prep for the party tomorrow. Staying in St. Pats AGAIN. Oh well!

Good news though, it's sunny out! Let's hope I don't jinx that...

Also! I won a contest with L'Oreal Paris to attend a VIP Gala of sorts to launch their new hair product, Sublime Mousse. So excited! Then I'm dashing like Cinderella to a fancy schmancy birthday party. A well deserved night after this horrible horrible week. So much to do tomorrow!

Not quite Winning today...

Okay so today sucks. And that is that. Moving on.

  1. Turning 21, birthday ideas.
  2. St. Patrick's day Celebrations.
  3. Finishing my essay about the French occupation in World War II.
  4. Birthday party and my new dress.and Gift.
  5. Going to bed earlier.
  6. Update Resume.
  7. Start reading The File.
  8. Hair appointment.
  9. Make manky toes look decent for party.
  10. Getting a new bed frame.
  11. Woody Harrelson.

Back from the Doctor's office, everything went well but my head feels a bit wonky as the anesthetic wears off.
I'm currently dreaming about these Starbucks petits-fours:

It just hit me how many procedures and doctor's appointments I've had over the years, and how lucky I am. Hearing about how some people can't get the medical attention they need, or don't go to avoid the high costs, makes me feel so frustrated. Everyone should be allowed to health care.

Thoughts on my head.

So I'm getting surgery on my head tomorrow and I'm feeling rather uneasy tonight. My doctor is removing a "lump" on my head that I've had for as long as I can remember. It's painful, it's ugly, it's big, you can see it if I part my hair the wrong way, and it's possibly growing. All the more reason to remove it, right? Except now I'm having second thoughts. It could just be the nerves, but maybe it's because I've grown affectionate towards my strange blemish. Maybe I'm used to it being there and it will be strange not finding it anymore. The procedure is not complicated, and she won't even have to shave my hair off, but I can't help but feel uneasy. Support from my Facebook friends has been helpful. Am I doing the right thing by getting it removed?

xx

Mila

I'm still day dreaming over this amazing dress, she is so beautiful!

Creation.

This morning feels inspirational. I have to write a paper on Art Spiegelman's Maus but I feel too anxious to create today. I wish I had more time for art.

House Bunny

Today I woke up feeling like this, minus the ears. My apartment needs a good cleaning. It is so dreary and grey outside, I don't see the point in doing much else. Where is my Aretha Franklin record?
