Tooth How Sand Eleven

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am alive and well, just super lazy blogwise and super busy lifewise. Not to mention newly addicted to Twitter, but that will settle soon because the semester begins again tomorrow as well as work on two different plays which means January will be awesome but also crazy and stressful but oh so rewarding. YES.

Two new classes: Europe in the 20th Century and Global Change (???)

So not in the mood for German tomorrow morning...

New Year Resolutions:

  • Get my G1.
  • Be a G6.
  • Floss.
  • Get to Asia.
  • Be tidier.
  • Not to be a pushover.
  • Don't be fooled by other people's ''rocks''.

ALSO! Umm...YES! Things are alright. On New Years Day I took apart my bed and chucked it into the trash! Hurray! I layed any flat parts down and put the mattress on top, very bohemian. Anyone willing to drive me to Ikea...?

I've stupidly started a pile of books over the holidays that I hope I get through eventually...here's what plagues my bohemian bedside table at the moment.

  • Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad (No, I haven't read this yet, and I started reading it because I had started reading a Timothy Findley book OVER A YEAR AGO that required me to have prior Conrad knowledge...and I'm sorry to Brandon who lent me the book last LAST summer, it's alive and well...)
  • Into Thin Air - Jon Krakauer (An ex-friend lent me this book, and I plan to return it once I've finished it, honest.)
  • Slaughterhouse-Five - Kurt Vonnegut (No need to explain, salvaged from imminent death from the secret high school book room)
  • 1,001 Ways to Save the Earth (Meh, why not...)
  • The Wall - Jean-Paul Sartre (Lent to me by the person who I lent Slaughterhouse too, but they embarrassingly returned it before I'd even gotten to the second short story...so good though.)
  • Colors Insulting to Nature - Cintra Wilson (free from Trinity)
  • Cent ans de solitude - Gael Garcia Marquez (It's upside down and I'm not going to bother to flip it over to see if my spelling is correct, mum brought it back from Marocco)
  • Introducing Semiotics - Paul Cobley and Litza Jansz (amazing gift from an amazing friend)
  • Confessions of an Eco Sinner - Fred Pearce (SO GOOD despite it making you feel really shit about everything you own...but really...SO GOOD!)
And that is that for now. I hope your year is full of lusciousness and love. xo
