So much for reading, which I've basically not done any of...except for reading Tavi's ENTIRE blog. Am I ridiculous or what? However, she's inspired me muchos muchos and need to get on that. It just feels like there is no more time in the day when you get older...I remember feeling invincible when I was younger, maybe I just need to organize myself better...I'm not going to do ANYTHING ELSE NOW until I've read my Sociology chapter on Aging...then super room binge!

I've been trying to make a pile for for the longest time now, let that be another goal of the month. As well as new cellphone hunting and job finding. Done like dinner.

Can I also just say, that my cat is being ridiculously cute these days? and I don't want to be one of those people who talks about their cat all the time, but my cat is seriously...not your average cat. I'll just leave it at that. It's probably because she hasn't seen me in so long, and she's now decided to snuggle up in my winter coat. I was thinking of adopting her a kitten, do you think cat's would be cool with that? Or she might get jealous...

Also, Tavi, can I please adopt you as my little sister?

Touch Down

My time with Paul flew by too quickly, the Lake poem I had posted talks about how time flies and how it should fly for those who are in pain, and drag on for those who are in love...
Alright, one quick entry before I'm on my way. I just got back and I'm already dreaming of leaving again...Nassau, Orlando, San Diego, Cancun??...My time in Ames was really great and I learnt so many new things. Paul taught me how to play pool and develop b&w photographs in a darkroom. The idea of having a darkroom in my house someday is a really intriguing one now.

Managed to transfer onto earlier flights at the airports, though when I got home, there was a massive snowstorm, no mood to get to class, which was canceled anyways, so I didn't feel so guilty... Spent way too much time looking at flights and such last night, and am now somewhat addicted to, erg. Got to get back to the Uni workload asap.

Also, in Chicago, I had a Dark Cherry Mocha at Sbux and it was goood, I want it to get here too so Leah can make me some...and was reading the H&M mag and realized how big bloggers can get and want to look into some of the names I've seen, like Tavi Gevinson. My blog has made 1.00$ :] Speaking of which I need to watch my spending, I basically bought nothing for almost six months and recently I've been spending a lot of money and sometimes on useless new rule, for every new thing that comes in, two must go out. Oh and find a job pronto. xx

Infamous TDL:
  • read 'Shining under the Sea', Socio, Emile Zola, Maupassant, The Secret
  • prepare for German exam
  • fill out behavioural assessment forms
  • fill up a rubbish bin this week
  • write CV, job hunt. make lots of moula for the summertimez.
  • new cellphone...?

To the lake!

Somehow managed to overcome space and time and am ready for tomorrow. Essay is done and my bags are basically packed. Just need to study some french and copy some german now and I am all set. I leave tomorrow afternoon once again for Ames, Iowa, to see the 'chocolate to my pudding'. Very excited to say the least and am glad to have finished my essay on Sylvia Plath. Ironically, it is the anniversary of her death today. I don't know if anyone knows anything about her but I have the sneaking suspicious she didn't mean to actually die, that she wanted to be found 'just in time', but events worked out the other any case. Happy Reading Week! x

Tout à coup des accents inconnus à la terre

du rivage charmé frappèrent les échos:
le flot fut attentif, et la voix qui m’est chère
laissa tomber ces mots:

« Ô temps, suspends ton vol! et vous, heures propices
suspendez votre cours:
laissez-nous savourer les rapides délices
des plus beaux de nos jours!

« Assez de malheureux ici-bas vous implorent,
coulez, coulez pour eux;
prenez avec leurs jours les soins qui les dévorent,
oubliez les heureux.

« Mais je demande en vain quelques moments encore,
le temps m’échappe et fuit;
je dis à cette nuit: Sois plus lente ; et l’aurore
va dissiper la nuit.

"Aimons donc, aimons donc ! de l’heure fugitive,
hâtons-nous, jouissons!
L’homme n’a point de port, le temps n’a point de rive ;
il coule, et nous passons!" -------------------------------------------------------------------

The weather is miserable but I feel pretty good, I'm just having anxiety attacks regarding all the things that need to be done this week, but Friday afternoon I'll be leaving to see Paul!! :] I'm so excited, you have no idea. I've done a lot of 'brave' things lately and I'm pretty proud of myself, and it makes it ten times better when someone else tells you they're proud of you. When I have kids, I want to be one of those insanely supportive parents who will frame their kindergarten artwork and reward them with a trip to Disney that too much? I've never been to Disneyland, I wish I had been, so I'll most likely end up bringing my future spawn there. My parents brought my brother to the one in Paris, he was obsessed by Mickey Mouse comic books, I used to read them too, he also had Dylan Dog comics and I loved those, have you heard of them? I wonder where they are now...

ALSO, if you're in the King & Jarvis area, don't go to Biagio. It's a beautiful restaurant in the St. Lawrence area, but the owner really takes advantage of the 'italian' menu and the portions are smaller than a french friend had a birthday dinner there and it was so much fun and the plates were beautifully presented, but the rude waitress, awkward 600 bill and the lack of fullness...made it a bit funny.

So busy...I'm going to EXPLODE.
  • Sociology midterm tomorrow, study sesh in library today and catching up on reading tonight.
  • German Quiz today, got to print off some helpful notes.
  • French Culture Midterm, got to catch up on Guy de Maupassant, read over notes
  • followed by, Literature Essay due on Friday, topic: Sylvia Plath + Ariel :]
  • errands galore, bank my student loan checks.
  • suitcase to pack! pack! pack! It's going to be an amaaazing week :] xx

CBA = Can't be arsed.

I think I'm going to do the unthinkable and have a shower today...I'm reading Jimmy Corrigan - The Smartest Kid on Earth, it's I can't wait to hear what the Prof thinks about it in lecture. I'm still in my pjays eating fruit salad and yogurt, the sky is blue and I've got so much work to do, but I'm stuck on Wikipedia, learning about Michelle Kwan...okay none of that!!

Going to make tomato and bocconcini salad for lunch. Don't tell him, but I've got yummy ideas for when I see Paul, also to prove to myself that I can be able to a) cook, b) put these cooking 'skills' to good use, c) make some one smile as a result, and maybe d) drool a little...Everyday my room gets better looking, but it's gotta move faster, it's kind of weird to think about where my room is...on the top left corner of the second building... Each time I'm walking I home, I look up and think of that corner like the corner of a chocolate bar and how my desk is right on the inside there, and that's where I walk about and sleep...

There's this idea of going to New York, but seriously, sometimes plane tickets make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER. I remember once looking at a flight to Paris and a flight to London...The flight to London cost twice as much as Paris but the flight to Paris made a stop at Heathrow! How weird is that? You might as well buy your ticket to Paris and then leave half way through...Maybe I SHOULD try and be a flight attendant and see if I get any insider knowledge in regards to that...

Also, did you watch Lost on Tuesday? (Who didn't...they rescheduled the State of the Union to air it...) Wow so much's to getting through the next week!xx

I JUST attempted to cut my own hair, and I hope it looks alright. I've got so much to do, housework and loads of homework and tests and midterms next week, I hope I make it out alive. Then I've got to pack :D
I don't think I've ever had a proper Valentines Day...but I'm not too demanding, I hope. I'm pretty excited about Valentines, I can't wait to see Paul and I've prepared a few things that I hope will make him smile, and my pie slice increase...:]

My apartment finally has cable (uh oh). I've never ever had cable before, 40 channels to distract me from my work. I love how I'm flipping through right now...and there's nothing I'm interested in...OH WELL. BUT I came home today to find out that we've got four phone jacks now, Hurray!

Cherry Cherry Pick up the Phone-y...xx

Some J.D. Salinger quotes that I like:

“It's funny. All you have to do is say something nobody understands and they'll do practically anything you want them to.”

“I'm sick of just liking people. I wish to God I could meet somebody I could respect.”

“I'm sick of not having the courage to be an absolute nobody.”

“I don't exactly know what i mean by that, but I mean it.”

omg there are so many good ones, read up:
